Artist Markets & Display Items

Note for folks just starting out- play around with what you have and see what works! Before you invest in tents, display items, etc, you may find you don’t want to actually do the Artist Market thing. While I love the interactions with folks and the relationships I’ve built with other artists, it’s frankly exhausting with setup and takedown. I suggest until you know for sure you’re committed to the artist market thing, use what you have, borrow a tent and get stuff at garage sales! And even if you find you love doing markets, you may not need to get anything at all!

Tent

I’ve gone through a few variations on tents. I bought cheap and surprise, surprise, they broke. This year I invested in a better one. The most important thing for me is being able to set up and take down on my own and quickly. The ABCCanopy Durable Easy Pop-Up has worked well for me to setup and take down on my own.

The Master Canopy side walls! Sidewalls are good to pin art on or for the rain. There will be rain…… Here is a link to the Side Wall I use.

Weights

I didn’t think I needed weights for my tent- then it blew away. The tent above comes with weight bags you can fill with waterbottles or rocks. I’ve seen people with proper weights and I think I’m going to go with that.

Display

I use ClearDisplays.com for most of my display items. They have great natural wood products. The price is the best I’ve found, plus they are a family run business in New Hampshire. Again, the shipping can be pretty slow, but well worth the wait.

I’ve also started to use Store Supply Warehouse. I use their jewelry supply trays for my stickers and… game changer! Link Here

Tablecloths

Having tablecloths that stretch and don’t wrinkle has been a game changer. They don’t really stain either! I had to buy them on Amazon but it's about $15. Here is a link.

Banner

Seriously, I just used Staples again. Got the outdoor banner and it cost about $50 and shipped within four days. I designed it on Canva.
