Liability Insurance & Good Luck!

Liability Insurance

Some markets require you to have Liability Insurance. This can be about $350 for the year or you can get one day. If you’re doing any events with municipalities, like the City of Burlington, you will 100% need proof of insurance.

While you can get it online, I really suggest you get someone local.  Liability Insurance: My go to guy is Scott Maynard at State Farm in Essex. He’s great at communication and is super helpful. Also, he’ll know what you need if you tell him what you’re doing! Feel free to tell him I sent you over! scott.maynard.wgeh@statefarm.com

Final Notes

My first market was July 2021, I did about 20 markets in 2022 and will do about 35 in 2022. It’s been a lot of trial and error figuring out what works for me. When you’re just starting out, you can just thrift your display items- seriously, it’s okay! Until you know that you want to do this more often/ what works for you, use what you have!

Most of all, have fun with this! If it’s not fun and you don’t like, may I suggest: don’t do it. Unless you happen upon some miracle art project which everyone needs (sorry, you won’t), it’s not worth it unless you’re passionate about it and having fun!

Good luck artists! May your sales be many and your interactions be joyous!
