Who Organizes the Market?
The market is organized by Mellisa Heather Cain (artist behind HoneyBee Heather), with co-organizer Jenn from Pixie Twine.
How Are Vendors Chosen? We look at several factors, including:
If they’ve vended with us in past years
The type and quality of their products or art
Balancing how many vendors we have in each category
We especially prioritize artists and makers who are just starting their selling journey and may not have access to larger markets but still offer quality, beautiful products
When and Where is the Market?
Date: Sunday, December 21
Time: 10:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: Robert Miller Community Center, Gymnasium, 130 Gosse Court, Burlington, VT
How much does it cost to vend?
$60 per space (we don’t want cost to be an issue. If it is, when applying, please note in the comment section and we will work with you!)
What do vendors get for the fee?
A 6-foot table and approximately 8x8 feet of space (in the gymnasium this year, so more room than before!).
Promotion including lawn signs, advertising, and social media outreach.
A warm, welcoming, and well-attended community event.
(The fee covers venue rental, marketing, and minimal organizer costs.)
What is the application timeline?
Application Due: October 19
Confirmations Sent: by October 24
Payment and Completed Form Due: October 31 (payment made via credit card)
Who is the market for?
The market is designed for artists and makers who don’t usually participate in larger, high-income markets. If you’re vending at the Good Trader’s Maker’s Market or similar large markets, we kindly ask that you skip this one to leave space for smaller-scale vendors.
What kind of vendors are accepted?
Artists and makers who make their own products
Handmade goods only
Who is not eligible?
Food vendors (due to space limitations/ rules of not having food at the venue)
Flea market / garage sale sellers
Resellers or MLM businesses
I vended last year or in 2023. Do I automatically get accepted?
Not automatically but you are given priority.
How many vendors will there be?
Around 40 vendors.
How successful has the market been in past years?
About 700 customers each year. Vendors have reported great sales and positive interactions with customers.
Donation for raffle
Each year we organize a raffle for the North End Food Pantry-visitors donate money or food and get a raffle ticket.
We ask vendors to donate something small to the raffle. This is not mandatory, but is nice!
North End Food Pantry
The North End Food Pantry provides free, healthy groceries, clothing, and diapers to Burlington neighbors in need. It is 100% volunteer run and donor supported. In past years, we have raised money and gathered a lot of food for the pantry and will be doing it again this year.
Refund Policy
Organizing this market is A LOT of time and energy. Unless you have a huge emergency, NO refunds are given.
